About the event
Despite being born from the chaos of the eternal hurricane that surrounds it, the Cloud Metropolis is a beacon of hope for all. And yet its gates have remained shuttered for nearly a century. Only those few with precious invitations bestowed by the Hippogriff himself have had the privilege of entering the flying city to create the Yats of their dreams.
But that all changes on Friday, July 30th at 7:00PM EDT.
Generation Zero will conclude, Generation One will rise, and the gates to the Cloud Metropolis will open for all to enter. To celebrate the occasion and welcome us all, the Hippogriff is throwing an epic virtual party: Yat Horizon.
Everyone in the Yat community and beyond is invited to this once in a generation gala event. As you know by now, the Hippogriff is wildly uncoordinated. Watching a Hippogriff dance is like watching a duck-billed platypus do...well, basically anything. And yet the Hippogriff insists on wearing his best dance shoes for Yat Horizon, and you should, too.
Yats will be minted, new emoji will drop, and fun will be had by all. This is something you won’t want to miss, and we cannot wait to see you there.

In the streets and alleys of the Cloud Metropolis, the rumor mill is swirling like the hurricane that surrounds the city. The word is that the iconic artist and innovator 3LAU 🎧🎧🎧 will be celebrating with us and performing an epic set.

We can only impose on the Hippogriff’s goodwill for so long. At some point, we’ve got to leave or risk another hundred-year lockdown of the Metropolis. Unfortunately that time is now. Thank you for joining us!

The live stream of Yat Horizon is free and open for everyone to enjoy. We cannot wait to see you there! - What’s the difference between Gen Zero and Gen One?
- Generation One Yats will be equally as powerful as Generation Zero Yats in every respect. The key difference will be their visual designation in an evolving number of places throughout the Yativerse. Every Yat is one-of-a-kind regardless of the Generation in which it was created.
- How will NFT minting work?
- Initially, we will support minting of Yats on the Ethereum blockchain. To mint a Yat as an NFT, a creator must first use the Yat Visualizer to create a stunning one-of-a-kind visualization of their Yat. After that you’ll be able to mint your Yat as an NFT from your Dashboard.
The first version of our NFT minting feature is very much an MVP. Our vision is to enable Yat Creators to mint their Yats on other digital asset protocols in the future, including Liquid. We are also working to minimize gas costs for Yat Creators.
In order to mint your Yat you must have MetaMask installed. - How does the Yat Visualizer work?
- Yats are all about self-expression and your Yat Visualization should be no different. Yat creators will select the parameters they want for each Yat from Particles, Ribbons, or Light Field, and then finalize their selection. Yat Creators can only visualize each of their Yats once, so choose wisely!
- I don’t like how I visualized my Yat, can I redo it?
- Yat Creators can visualize each of their Yats only once. Choose wisely!
If you receive a Yat that has already been visualized, don’t worry, you will be able to create your very own visualization. - What is Yat?
